FSAE-A Competition 2019
From the 5th to the 8th of December, QUT Motorsport competed in the Formula SAE Australasia 2019 Competition in Winton, Melbourne.
Countless hours of hard work and determination made it possible for our team to reach the point where we were able to attend and achieve some incredible results. The high level of work to innovate some of the best technology is a real credit to the skilled members of our team who have acquired further knowledge and grown through the experience of attending competition.
Unfortunately, due to some unforeseen issues with our highly intricate electrical system, we were not able to compete dynamically. However, we did achieve some incredible results in the Static Events; coming in second in Business Presentation out of the 16 teams that competed. We also placed: 9th in Design and 5th in Cost which are some brilliant results for the team.

This competition was a huge learning curve for the team being the first for many of our current members after not competing for several years. After endless commitment, we did manage to complete a car that we were proud to present at competition.

There are still many positives to take away from the weekend however, including our results in the Static Events, the camaraderie of our team members, and the amount of knowledge we have come away with that we will endeavour to apply for next year.
We would like to thank the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) for the enormous support, along with our sponsors, family and friends.
We would also like to thank all of our members past and present for their relentless hard-work and commitment to this amazing project and for each of their contributions to help get us to this point.
In a field of 16 teams, we are extremely happy with these results as essentially a first-year team. Although there was a lot of emotions from not having a running car, we are hungry to come back stronger next year.
